Whew. Everything’s back to normal now. Hillary Clinton won. The Dems are acting like Dems. Change means status quo. The media is calling John McCain and Hillary Clinton the “comeback kids.” An apparent tear means more than a policy. Liberal bloggers are irrelevant. And, for course, none of us have to be bothered by the fact that we’re a nation at war. That’s sooooo last year. I feel so much better. Or, as Michael Stipe would say: “It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.”
Excuse me while I wring my brain out like a filthy washcloth. Because I don’t want the names Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney and the term “agent of change” lingering around in my mind together. It’s kind of creepy. I don’t want to have the image of Chuck Norris and Mike Huckabee there anymore, either. And I’m tired of the predictions and the pontification and the prognostication. Because it’s pretty clear that no one really knows what the fuck is happening out there.
You’d think that after nearly everyone blew it yesterday by assuring us all that a tidal wave of Obama-mania was inevitable that they’d take a few days to be quiet and lick their wounds. No such luck. Instead, at the very moment the facts were telling them that they were as wrong as wrong could be they began to spin how they now know why they were wrong and how they are now going to be right. The business of bullshit is a growth industry.
But I’m rinsing it all out. Wash, rinse, and wring. Goodbye sordid morsels of ninniness. Well, other than to say: The Dems deserve Hillary. Let the rotten ship sail….
I’m glad Hillary won. Now, if we could just have WORLD PEACE–or, at least a lobotomy.

You are irrelevant because you are wrong. The surge worked. People like Hillary.
You would have had us leave Iraq and let the blood of thousands of Iraqi citizens drip through your hands as the country descended into chaos. Thank goodness sharper minds have prevailed.
Hard to come to terms with the fact that you’re wrong. Real men can do it – can you?
WHAT!!? Who are you, Truthseeker? (Did Dan Quayle move to Vermont?)
It’s not that people like Hillary, it’s that Obama got older women pissed when he said: “You’re likeable Enough.” Sounds like: “You’re good enough to go make me dinner, now shut up and let me watch the game.”
Jesus Christ!
“Truth”seeker, that blood was already on our hands the minute we got involved in that clusterfuck. “As the country descended into chaos?” What is it now? Pleasantville?
And the “surge” has not worked. There is still no political stability to speak of. Funny how violence decreased when the Brits pulled out of Basra, huh?
Do YOU like Hillary? Judging from the stuff you post on here, I’d venture to guess not.
JD Ryan,
You really should learn the facts before you say something entirely irrelevant.
I was referring to violence against women and children. Violence against the BRITISH and IRAQI military forces has decreased since Britain pulled out of Basra. The study had nothing to do with civilians.
Hmm… go figure. Britain pulls out and violence against the British decreases. Wow. What a powerful argument you make.
I wasn’t saying that violence against Americans would increase if Americans pulled out. I was talking about civilians.
Just so you know, the women and children don’t have the option of pulling out. While Basra has never been plagued with significant sectarian violence, other areas of Iraq have. And you know what that means.
So don’t use a totally irrelevant argument to bolster your claims. It makes you look foolish and naive.
Look at this quote from a Reuters article:
Basra city councillor Munadhil al-Mayahi said security had deteriorated over the past three months. [since the British withdrawl] “Political assassinations have increased, armed robberies have increased, kidnappings have increased,” he said.
Now do you see why your argument is entirely flaccid? Before you gamble with other people’s lives, at least do a shred of research.
Let me also remind you of one thing. The surge was intended to reduce violence. Period. It has worked. I know that you’re scared to accept the truth, but in order to have a shred of integrity you really need to.
The point of the surge was to reduce violence so others can begin to work on forming a government.
If a government can’t be formed, it just shows that people such as yourself have miscalculated the willingness of Iraqis to have peace. I know it’s shocking that not everyone thinks like you, but it happens. Deal with it.
