The Shooting Party

Yep, we’re setting our sights today. Our rifle sights, that is. Look out Walden, here we come. And be warned: I haven’t fired my Browning 308 pump action rifle in about three years.

It’s a shooting party, for sure. The gang from Walden invited me to partake again this year – just like old times.

I hope we don’t encounter the killer bunny…

  1. A .308? Howard Elman’s weapon of choice in Hebert’s “The Dogs Of March”–when the dog pack running deer attacked him in the woods, he forgot to turn the safety off; had to use it as a club, I recall.

Maybe this explains some things. Do you have any friends named Ollie Jordon or Cooty Peterson?

I have petitioned the state of Vermont to open a small track of state land up in Brighton to be used as a shooting range. It would be no longer than 500 feet but it would have four wheeled moving targets. The ANR assembled a panel and will be holding a hearing on December 25th at 1:00am and are asking people to attend to voice there opinion.

In our petition we have stated: we use it now, we are going to keep using it, so there for you may as well let us use it because you have no one to stop us from using it.

And the name of this organization will be: Users and Abusers

    Thank you

I can’t figure if I wish I were going with you, or glad I’m not in Walden anymore…. probably more glad I’m not in Walden.

Colby with a gun? Stay far, far away. That’s a no brainer.

I took them boys to school. Showed ‘em how guns should be fired, targets hit, and attitude displayed.

Fucking Vermonters, they don’t know shit.
