Thoughts From The Voices Inside My Head
A Consumer Revolt is necessary. America has become the Company Store. The Robber Barons take our money (that we give them and the government gives them) and use part of it to suppress unions, to lobby for more plunder of Developing Nations, to fight health care, dis-empower the poor and working class (ACORN), to render the planet unlivable in the near future, and, in general, use capitalist economic power (Stock Market, government, etc.) to make the average American (who knows all this in heart and head) a dependent of, and a partner in, a system that gives more and more wealth and power to the Ruling Class.
Once Americans get it through their heads that this nation has become a Corporate Reich (look at the health care bullshit), perhaps that realization will translate into saying: ” NO, I will NOT buy your products; NO, I will NOT vote for the same asshole again who just sold us out again; NO, I will NOT worry about ‘fitting in’ and going with the flow; NO, this is NOT right for me, for my children, for THE WORLD!” There is still a RIGHT and WRONG and most Americans know it. The system provides, in answer to right and wrong, COMFORTABLENESS–”Enjoy life and go shopping, we’ll protect you from being bombed so you can give us more money.” It’s CRAP! They will NEVER STOP TAKING. And soon, COMFORT will turn into SLAVERY. Call it Science Fiction or Kafka, it’s going to get much worse until Americans face up to what the unrestricted, unregulated (un-taxed) Capitalist All-American Dream is really about.
Can people like Nader lead this Revolt? He could be one of them, but the Peace & Justice folks (including the Peace & Justice yuppie realtors and small business owners and ‘not in my backyard’ types) have to form a Grassroots movement that acknowledges that War and Injustice thrive on the profits of American consumerism, and that soon there will be no butter left for the bread–except for the rich and powerful. There cannot be PEACE without Justice; and as we have seen, over and over again through the decades, our ECONOMY is controlled and manipulated UNJUSTLY by the Ruling Class.
So, are we going to keep being whipped until we say “My name is Toby,” or are we going to get real and get mad at how our American Dream has been put On Sale by a bunch of criminals who killed Kennedy in’63 in the beginning of the Corporate Coup?
Because some day, the Company Store will be telling us What To Eat, What To Read, What To Think, and even Who (or What) To Love. A bleak and heartless future on a dying planet, so Fat Cats can have enough money to live Underground a few decades and then surface and start the same shit all over again. Enough, Peter. Should post this on GMD–no comments, right, Michael. Talking to Myself. (maybe they’ll put me in a Nuthouse and then give me Death With Dignity) And, trust me, My Fellow Americans, there’s money to be made in YOUR Death With Dignity too.

Manifest Destiny
bought out and sold out
suckered once again
we changed from fear
and loathing to complacency
too weak to even speak out loud
is there a god left in America
who doesn’t make magic
out of lies and betrayal and sin?
we blew up our balloon
with the hot air of promises
paraded like children at the fair
ate the candy til it made us sick
and listened to the snake oil man
then we got taken for a ride
on the great whiplash machine
the one that sorts out all the currency
it makes us dizzy these spins
around to where we started again
only our place in line has been taken
by bullies who scream out loud
